About our Child & Adolescent Psychology
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with the experience, expertise and authority to diagnose and treat children with a variety of acute or chronic health conditions. Nurse practitioners have completed additional university study at Master’s degree level and are the most senior and independent clinical nurses in our health care system. Nurse practitioner’s can deliver much of the health care that kids require, consulting doctors and specialists as necessary. Educating children and their families about normal growth and childhood development issues (e.g., toilet training, temper tantrums, biting) and parenting is a big part of the nurse practitioner’s role.
Our amazing team of nurse practitioners work as key members of child’s health care team. They work collaboratively with the family GP and other health care professionals to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for children. All new clients will require an initial health check appointment with a nurse practitioner at the clinic.
Our nursing team provides high levels of clinically focused care. Our nurse practitioner’s can provide support for acute medical conditions, developmental and behavioural concerns and other problems relating to child health and wellbeing.
